I first heard Roisin Murphy perform “Royal T,” then named “Royalty” at Viktor & Rolf’s Spring/Summer 2010 fashion show in Paris. I was hooked instantly of course. Turns out the track is from Crooker’s delightful album Tons of Friends. I can’t understand a word she’s saying. But it sounds cool and honestly that’s all that matters. “Te Amo” was always the most iffy track on Rihanna’s “Rated R” to me. I never like seeing pop singers who don’t/can’t speak Spanish sing in Spanish. Just because Madonna & Beyonce have done it doesn’t mean Ri Ri should. Leave that to Shakira. But, this remix of “Te Amo” makes me want to warm up to the lesbian tease track.
