Growing up in New York City’s emerging uptown neighborhood of Washington Heights to Dominican immigrant parents, M. Tony Peralta was seemingly born a child of the hip-hop generation. As a teenager, his eye shifted to graffiti and the work of New York downtown artist Keith Haring. At age 17, Peralta transferred his own artwork onto t-shirts, which he sold in his neighborhood. Years later, the 35-year-old artist/graphic designer is still pushing t-shirts but to a broader audience.
Let him tell, graphic artist Stephen Kelly doesn’t take himself to serious. But seriously, he should consider. His work is top notch. According to Stephen, he doesn’t quite make a living as an illustrator, but one can live on awesome work until the big checks start rolling in. Trust me. Take a closer look at Stephen’s work below.
Zach Johnsen of Zenviornments.com is designing for Tank Theory–again. The illustrator/graphic designer has rejoined forces with the brand to create each T-shirt of the Month graphic. You can expect a new release from the collaboration monthly now. One of Zach’s Unfortunates, “Dwell Not on the Past,” is the first piece to join the ranks of Tank Theory in over a year.
LA based brand PottyMouth is one to keep your eye on. There's a feeling in the designs that instantly makes them stand out in a sea of street wear brands. I can dig it. Graphic designer Nico Cruz has a winner on his hands.
