
George grew up in south London. He de-constructs the world around him in a non-conformist way to produce art that shows the necessary truths of our society. He is heavily influenced by the experiences of his travels, which he uses to develop an abstract and objective view of his surroundings. It is often this ‘distance’ that becomes the subject and inspiration for many of his pieces. Check out An-Mag.com’s interview with George below.
When I get back from outer space I might notice the little things. Time for instance. Whether good times are in abundance or not, the clock is still rolling. Or the unrelenting love from peers. And especially the unashamed smile in my mother’s voice when I tell her I’m moving home to Miami, and not New York. I call it trading hustles for muscles.
As the saying goes, an artists’ new work is always their best work. Here’s some proof for that statement. UK based artist George Morton-Clark recently sent me these images of his latest works. As a fan of his work, it’s amazing to see where it’s been and where it’s going in a linear fashion.
George Morton-Clark picked a name when he named this piece. It’s fitting. The London based artist recently completed the above oil painting entitled “Beautifully Destructive,” and was kind enough to share. No word if George has a show or anything planned for this work. But I’m sure he has a trick or two up his sleeve. Nice work either way.
