November 23, 2011 |  by

Every time I get wind of Rihanna releasing a new album my initial reaction is always the same. Again? So soon? And after one listen of that said album I understand why. Today’s pop stars have to be more mindful of output than their predecessors. It’s why Britney achieved what Madonna achieved in 10 years and Rihanna seemingly did what Britney did in a mere five. Last week Rihanna released her sixth studio album Talk That That. January 3, 2011 |  by

“With a bad bitch that came from Sri Lanka.” With that line Nicki Minaj gave us a nasty reminder why M.I.A. will and forever be a necessary staple in popular music. M.I.A. could have done the job herself with /\/\/\Y/\, her last album. But her big mouth got her into trouble on that one. Even Diplo thought it sucked. Call ViCKi LEEKX, a redux or dance floor apology, but M.I.A.’s recently released 36-minute mixtape makes it clear when she gets it right.
