When an artist decides to take a break from their career, it’s usually for a good reason, maybe even one that average people could never understand. Sometimes an artist will feel overwhelmed or decide that they need some personal time to themselves to regroup from whatever situation they may be coming out of. For whatever reason it might be, the absence of an artist usually stirs up some kind of anticipation for their return, partially because everyone is waiting to hear what the artist has to say and if they will explain what brought about their temporary departure. What I like most about an artist returning after their exit is the chance to see or hear what improvements they may or may not have made. Artists are ever evolving and when they take a long break, it’s almost certain that they have gone through a big change in their art.

As a child, I always loved stories. My favorite ones were the ones like “The Wizard of Oz” or “Alice In Wonderland”. A child escaping her humdrum town and landing in a magical world of the bizarre and mystifying all while having the absolute time of their lives with some seedy and unique characters. Fadia Kader’s CMYK show hosted by Atlanta based musician, Bosco was just that for me, except I’m not sure if Alice or Dorothy were offered PBRs during the duration of their adventures.
I see in color. And all my artist friends see in color too. So Bosco‘s upcoming ‘CMYK’ monthly design & music showcase makes much sense. We were asked to pick two artists to represent Art Nouveau. We chose Ben Carson & Universal Kingdom.
Multi-media artist BOSCO recently dropped her latest project entitled The Haveknots. The EP is a collection of piano laced cover songs. BOSCO offers her takes on Coldplay’s “X&Y,” which she turns into a folk inspired tear jerker and more.
When you feel dark inside your outward appearance follows suit. I’m used to seeing Atlanta based multimedia artist Bosco head to toe in black, it’s her thing. But never have I seen it cast in this light. Director Phil The God captures a soul-stirring Bosco fighting her way to victory. And for the duration of the short film they tug at the heart strings of anybody with a pulse. If this what her debut album Black is going to sound like I’m on board. Watch the collaboration between Bosco and Phil The God below.
Music is feeling. That’s why it is always the most important part of a party. If the music ain’t hitting, how are you supposed to get your life? We got you covered this Thursday. Our Anniversary party is set to go there musically. We have DJ sets by Ethereal, GreatEclectic and Savvy Society, pop up performances by Tendaberry, RAHBI, theDOLLDAZE, Corinne Stevie, BOSCO and more and Theophilus London’s Atlanta debut. If you’re unfamiliar with any of the music, get familiar before Thursday. It’s bassy, it’s dancey, it’s pop, but it’s so not pop. But, here’s what our 3rd year anniversary party is going to sound like.
