Sham Ibrahim Makes Art From Rihanna’s Pain

February 10, 2010 |  by  |  Art & Culture

By now everyone has seen Rihanna’s infamous police photo that was leaked after her “altercation” with then boyfriend Chris Brown. Los Angeles based artist, Sham Ibrahim, has created an Andy Warhol-esque portrait of Rihanna using that picture. The piece was featured in the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery in LA.

Do you think this is sending a strong message about domestic abuse through art or is this just a sick way to profit of someone’s paint? Russian Roulette anyone? What do you think?

  1. Rihanna is my favorite…Pain is beauty

  2. Damnn bastard!!!

  3. Not really that impressed – despite the image of Rihanna’s leaked photo. The Andy Warhol four colored print has been done to death, regulary seen on profile pictures on facebook/myspace etc
It’s Rihanna’s pain, sure, but the way it’s presented is completely unoriginal and, to me, says less and means less than the original leaked photo.
