By now everyone has seen Rihanna’s infamous police photo that was leaked after her “altercation” with then boyfriend Chris Brown. Los Angeles based artist, Sham Ibrahim, has created an Andy Warhol-esque portrait of Rihanna using that picture. The piece was featured in the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery in LA.
Do you think this is sending a strong message about domestic abuse through art or is this just a sick way to profit of someone’s paint? Russian Roulette anyone? What do you think?

Not really that impressed – despite the image of Rihanna’s leaked photo. The Andy Warhol four colored print has been done to death, regulary seen on profile pictures on facebook/myspace etc
It’s Rihanna’s pain, sure, but the way it’s presented is completely unoriginal and, to me, says less and means less than the original leaked photo.
