Review: “Mr. Brown Poetry” by Mr. Brown

August 18, 2009 |  by  |  Uncategorized

It isn’t everyday I get an album in brown paper bag, so when Mr. Brown handed me a couple copies of his album Mr. Brown Poetry in just that, I had to listen.

But the cleverly designed packaging is not the only good thing about the album. “Mr. Brown’s Poetry” is a damn good album. With production from Brittany Bosco’s main graphic designer and producer Alex Goose, a razor sharp flow and vivid lyrics Mr. Brown’s Poetry is a winner any fan of hip-hop would love.

Track highlights include “What Do You Call Yourself,” “Mr. Brown” and my favorite, the soulful chopped and screwed inspired “Later On I’ll Be Gone.” Guess school lunch isn’t the only good things coming in brown paper bags.

Key Tracks: “What Do You Call Yourself?” “Mr. Brown” “Train Of Thought”
