Randy Conner Flirts With Galactic Cannibalism

November 29, 2011 |  by  |  Art & Culture

Randy Conner, a self-taught artist born in Hawaii in 1986, currently lives and paints in San Diego. Mostly working with acrylic, oil pastel and marker, Conner’s paintings provide a colorful and bizarre glimpse into his subconscious mind. He has an “anything goes” approach to his art, and says that he does not censor his thoughts or judge them as they make their way onto the canvas.

… Conner’s paintings cannot be consumed with a quick glance. Each one contains a myriad of hidden messages, seemingly random words and phrases, and strange images and figures that offer no immediate answers to the viewer. He says, “I’m not trying to make a statement. I just paint. The painting is done when it feels done.”
