If Rafael Cox knows anything it’s fashion. The New Mexico born designer enrolled in American Intercontinental University to study Fashion Design and began receiving notable attention for his senior collection. A staple of the Atlanta fashion scene, his work has been seen in several fashion shows around the city, including several Clark Atlanta University Fashion Shows, Morehouse College Homecoming Fashion Shows, as well as Dress For Success Competition Fashion Show. He also participated in Project X Fashion Shows, which have been credited as the largest expo of fashion in the South-East.
Rafael’s talent has been recognized and featured in Atlanta Peach, Jezebel, Paper City and the Atlanta Journal Constitution. As far as inspiration goes, Rafael looks to designer Yves Saint Laurent. Like Yves, Rafael creates garments that are as sharp on function as it is fashion. Which is why he believes “fashion is for all shapes and sizes.”
