Lady Paints The Blues: Tatyana Fazlalizadeh

July 7, 2010 |  by  |  Art & Culture

You can’t even imagine the amounts of art I see daily as the Editor of Art Nouveau. It’s rare that i find something that moves me and is rendered as impressive as Tatyana Fazlalizadeh’s work. The 24-year-old Philadelphia based painter sent me her work recently. I spent a while studying her impressive oil paintings and Tatyana is the real deal. I’m surprised I haven’t heard anything about her before.

Over the course of her career as a working artist and freelance illustrator Tatyana has exhibited her work in galleries stretching up and down the east coast of the United States. Her editorial illustration clients include The Source, Utne Reader, and more. She’s also the artist who created the poster for Tyler Perry’s upcoming adaptation of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf. When Tyler Perry’s name is attached to a film I usually am turned off instnatly. The poster drew me in to the film like a good piece of art does. Tyler has miss Tatyana to thank for that. Check out some of our favorite pieces by Tatayna below.
