Tumblr has morphed itself a disgustingly popular domain for the easily entertained and ADD, both of which, as far as I’m concerned, exclude little to none. In today’s day and age, ‘distractions’ are no longer thus; they are, in fact, that of which stimulates the human mind – at least for the time being. So naturally, as Tumblr provided the infrastructure, the fiends came-a-runnin’ – I’m talking bloggers and blogettes, artists, musicians, foodies, web personalities, and anonymous nobodies were all, if I may, “tumbling” together. You ask, what has come of it all? Easy: 2012 America.

That said, here is where my next artist victim comes into play, one whom I consider the epitome of the 2012 state of mind in style and sense of humor alike: Katie Alice Greer. Utilizing the Tumblr domain for everything it is and ever will be, the artist slash “bla-bla” blogger extraordinaire entices her audience with “comix & other weird pictures” which stream under the blog’s ever-promising headline: How 2 Survive the Apocalypse and Other Things (even if you accidentally set everything on fire). The blog consists of everything from movie reviews to perky boobs, but for the most part serves a fine collection of scribbles over scraps and side notes from an inattentive yet overly perceptive mind.
Lucky for us, Greer’s artistry interests that of “other things” more so than surviving the apocalypse, but for all one knows she got distracted somewhere along her quest to find out. Theoretically speaking, when the day comes and when all’s said and done, 2012 America and the rest of us ADD cyber divers have Katie Alice Greer’s vocal conscience to thank for entertaining us in the meantime.
