We introduced you to Greg Mike previously when we covered his awesome show at Kai Lin Art Gallery. As an artist and designer, Greg has been heavily involved in both art and fashion for over a decade. He’s now turned to his attention to a new venture: an art gallery and creative agency set to open at the end of this month in Atlanta.
“I wanted to create a space in Atlanta that would showcase work from artists and designers that we work with in other cities, artists in our collective, and ATL-based artists who are taking things to the next level,” Greg says. “Both artists and Atlantans alike have expressed a want for a destination to share their love for the arts. The team at ABV holds this common goal, and have been working to provide new exhibitions that fill this need. We will be featuring new work every month with openings falling on the fourth Friday of each month during the STUDIOPLEX’s Art Walk. After opening night we will be open daily selling a variety of art, clothing, and collectibles.”
For it’s inaugural opening, ABV collaborated with artist KRK RYDEN to curate “THE PANELISTS,” a group show featuring 16 artists who each created two eight foot comic book pages. Artists include Mark Mothersbaugh (best known as a founder of the New Wave band Devo), Mitch O’ Connell (whose work has appeared in Newsweek and the New York Times as well as advertising campaigns for McDonald’s and Coca-Cola), and Anthony Ausgang (who recently designed the cover of MGMT’s “Congratulations” record). Other artists showing work include Niagara, The Pizz, Spain, Mats?!, Mark George, KRK RYDEN, Zoey Stevens, Luster Kaboom, Janelle Hessing, Rus Pope, Robin Footitt, Jon Haddock and Joshua Ellingson.
