Ever since Kanye West got “Heartless” on us and interrupted teeny bopper Taylor Swift‘s VMA acceptance speech he hasn’t been able to catch anything resembling a break.

First, his tour FAME KILLS with Lady Gaga got canceled. She of course moved on to a solo tour. Gossip blogs like TMZ are posting videos of his erratic behavior, Ye skipped out on the BET Awards after being nominated for nine awards, his short film with Spike Jonze was supposed to be released on iTunes this month but was leaked online this past weekend, his clothing line Pastelle  has been discontinued and if Mediatakeout is correct–they knew Fame Kills was going to be canceled before anyone– Ye has jetted off to India to find himself.

Could this be backlash over the VMA incident? If it is that sucks, especially since it was more than likely planned by all parties being that Kanye and Taylor Swift have the same manager. Ye, definitely lost on this deal though. While Taylor Swift got sympathy album sales, and MTV got huger ratings then that time Madonna and Britney kissed, Ye has gotten nothing but bad press. If he makes it out of this his publicist needs the Nobel Prize.

I’ve never been good with Math. It’s why I’m still in school unfortunately. But someone that is good, or at least has a graphing calculator put an amount of the revenue that was lost thanks to Kanye’s stunt. Add in the cancellation of this tour, which wasnt selling well apparently and the Pastelle line which is going to be released or end up in a Marshalls somewhere in Tuscalusa.

This month away in Indonesia sounds like the begin of the end for Ye. In our Twitter obsessed culture, a month is a long time out of the spotlight. Hopefully he can bounce back from this. Kanye has become one of those celebrities where controversy is more important than the music. And the crazy thing is Kanye is really great at music. On top of redefining pop and rap music at the same time with 808s and Heartbreaks Ye had an undeniable role in creating The Blueprint 3 and Man on the Moon, two of the biggest rap albums this year and murdered it with killer verses on tracks with The Dream, Young Jeezy, DJ Class, Keri Hilson, Jay-Z and more. And because he’s a freakin’ idiot and can’t keep his mouth shut that is forgotten. And that sucks.

In a cap ridden apology on his blog Kanye wrote “ I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!!” In a world where everything is not just fake, but obviously fake, we shouldn’t apologize for being real. Right?
