GreatEclectic: That’s Stupid
Beyonce’s new video for her song “Video Phone” has to be the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. And that’s with no exception to anything. Not Madea Goes To Jail. Not The Tiny and Toya Show. Not even Soul Plane.
The “Video Phone” clip which finds Beyonce throwing her ass and breasts around like an average video ho and painting herself white ala Bettie Paige among a number of other ludicrous visuals is the most coonish thing I’ve seen since Soulja Girl. I thought after Obama took office shit like this was supposed to stop.
It’s not that the video, and it’s accompanying five minute jingle isn’t so much stupid as it is pointless and horribly juvenile. What the hell is this about? Is she promoting Xtube membership? Rainbow apparel? I don’t get it. If BET still had a time slot for the uncut videos this would be on it round the clock.
Beyonce is reaching and trying to hold onto whatever credibility as an “artist” she has left. This is overreaching. It’s not working. Someone told me she’s on her way to being a legend. I don’t see it. If she doesn’t switch it up soon Rihanna’s going to eclipse her.
What about Lady GaGa? She was in it and is always naked. What about her? She’s white. And still today GaGa dancing and looking slutty doesn’t speak for the entire white race. But in a white owned media, Beyonce doing shit like this speaks for all black women. And that’s the sad part.
I’m not a hater, I just read alot, and I think I just lost a couple hundred brain cells watching this coon fest.

i dnt knw if anyone else caught it but beyonce was portraying at least 2 breakout female artists: she portrayed katy perry and rihanna and i may have seen keri hilson wit the assistance of lady gaga.. i guess it was her way of giving props to them and to heed that she aint letting her crown go no time soon… this video and her fashions in the video are off the chain.. It felt like she was trying to be Rihanna. Honestly, when the video started I thought is was Rihanna (kind of scary). It was just too random and try to hard for my liking
People should not look towards media to be role models for children … in the end it is their parent’s job to contort their kids into who they will become in the future. Beyonce and Lady Gaga never once said their lifestyles are appropriate for kids. Their job is to entertain, this video delivers.

…i must say, i thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. My first time watching it i thought to myself…this is some natural BS…the video isn’t really coherent. Or maybe i’m just not abstract enough to catch the link between a song entitled video phone and the use of guns…secondly, i must agree that it did seem sluttier than the usual beyonce. As of late, i had become accustomed to a private, almost reserved beyonce…not some common booty shaking…
btw, maybe i’m not hip enough, but i’d def like to know how she gave tribute or portrayed other female artists…
