Music’s biggest night is set to take over TV on Sunday and I don’t’ care. I love seeing great musicians awarded for their work, but The Grammy’s haven’t been relevant in terms of what’s going on in music for years now. I don’t have to watch the telecast, or even listen to the radio to know who’s being nominated every year. Alica Keys, Beyonce, Coldplay, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, give her something too. It’s no wonder the awards and nominees are picked by old industry insiders. So of course they’d pick safe, predictable choices.
What makes this year even more of a yawn than previous years is the lack of headline. Every year it’s a tabloid story that fuels the fire of the show. In 2005 it was Mariah’s comeback. Every other year it’s will Kanye spaz if he loses. Last year it was the British soul invasion. This year, there’s nothing. No story. Just Beyonce being nominated 13 times for shaking her ass. All I can do is shake my head.
I still think most artists would want a Grammy, before an AMA, Billboard or MTV or BET Award. But, I don’t even think the artists can pretend they are excited about this years Grammy’s.

i aint been feeling the grammys either.
