David E. Beats’ mother was a singer and pianist in the early 80’s so it’s no wonder her talent rubbed off on the 21-year producer and rapper. The rapper’s first rap purchase was Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint.” Before then he’d only listened to soul and grunge-rock. He’s blurring rap, r&b and pop like no other artist out there.
