Artist of The Week: Chris Peters

Agit pop surrealism vanitas artistChris Peters was raised on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He trained for three years at the Gage Academy of Art, completing their program that emphasizes academic painting techniques. Chris holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Washington.

His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries devoted the the Los Angeles Pop Surrealism / Lowbrow Art movement, including Copro/Nason Gallery in Santa Monica, La Luz de Jesus in Hollywood, and as a featured artist for Cannibal Flower. Chris is An-Mag.com’s Artist of the Week. Check out some of his work from his latest show which opens Saturday March 6, 2010 at Last Rites Gallery in NYC.
