With Only Minutes to the Top, Arrow in the Air Reaches for the Sky

It’s 2012. This December, the world is ending depending on who you believe and with only minutes to the top, Atlanta based band Arrow in the Air is reaching for the sky despite the Mayan’s prediction. If you’ve frequented Art Nouveau Magazine, you may recognize the lead singer Sye Spence, former solo artist who’s worked extensively with us on numerous projects. With her new band, a new sound, attitude and direction, Arrow in the Air is ready to touch the sky.

Formed in Buford, GA this past October, the band’s name stems from a eponymous song written by guitarist Mesaris. Here the idea of dreams are made analogous to an arrow being shot into the air in hopes that they reach the sky. After receiving a sneak peak of early demos from their upcoming album Mockingbird, I love my job by the way, I can attest to the high energy and emotional themes that run through the bluesy album.

Following Mockingbird, will be an impressive 150 date southeastern tour to promote the album. 50 of those dates will be under the umbrella of the “We Are the Arrow” high school concert series, a string of Greater Atlanta area shows for students grades 9 through 12, held in high school theaters, gyms and cafeterias. The concert series is a part of the band’s mission to connect with their younger audience with a message to think big, follow dreams, and embrace creativity. This young lady inspires me to keep going, and if you listen I’m sure you’ll get something too. Listen to a sneak peak at their recent live performance of “Minutes to the Top.”
