Andreas Englund Paints the Not-So-Perfect Super Hero

September 12, 2011 |  by  |  Art & Culture

Art directors make the best artists. Ask Andy Warhol. Art directors are trained they think like writers. Say the most with the least, could very well be their motto. Following in that tradition of Art Director turned Artist, Andreas Englund adds humor to his vivid narratives.

The Stockoholm based artist’s latest series entitled the not-so-perfect super hero finds his subject, a super hero, going through various normal human activities: going to the dentist, grocery shopping, going to the bathroom.

‘Humor can be the carrier of messages that are otherwise hard to convey,’ says Englund. ‘For me, it liberates my thoughts and ideas from pretentiousness while at the same time it opens doors to new routes and angles.’
